Lobo was a Wolf featured in Seton's "Wild Animals I Have Known" that rampaged on the Currumpaw Plains and was dubbed the King of Currumpaw.
Hessian were German mercenaries hired by the British government and sent to America. One of them had his head blown away by cannon fire but instead of laying dead he began to roam about Sleepy Hollow as a Headless Horseman.
