The child of an active idol and a famous actress. Hokuto is brave and collected, but is also an airhead due to his upbringing. With a resounding, powerful voice, he delivers energetic performances.

At a first glance, Hokuto is the cool and calm leader of Trickstar. He is a good student in terms of his grades, and is described by those around him — the members of Trickstar, his classmates and even his teachers — as incredibly serious. He takes his studies and his dream to surpass his parents to become both a famous idol and successful actor completely seriously, and has the self-confidence to back himself up.

With his friends, Hokuto has a hard time understanding the jokes Subaru and Makoto make, and the jokes he makes himself are said to be hard to understand. His sense of humour is slightly skewed, and despite his continuous study of manzai, he doesn't seem to be able to understand the boke's use of puns and punchlines, but often plays the tsukkomi role without realising. Despite this, he has also (unintentionally) assumed the role of boke on multiple occasions. He has been described as airheaded, and this combined with his seriousness causes him to misinterpret things in a wild or unfortunate fashion. He’s very honest and tends to speak what is on his mind frankly, and thus his earnest and serious reactions, rather than finishing the punchline, seem to be what people around him find funny.

Still, he is loyal to and loves his friends dearly, and is someone who will fiercely stand up for them. On the other hand, he is stubborn and somewhat guarded with those he dislikes or finds hard to handle, and can lose his cool when confronted by people like Eichi or his father, Seiya. When faced with people who threaten his pride or his friends, he can become surprisingly hot-blooded and ends up picking fights or accepting challenges without thinking things through.

His perfectionist nature stems from his upbringing as a thoroughbred of the entertainment world — because he has had such high expectations placed on his shoulders from a young age, he expects highly of himself and is aware of the consequences of making mistakes on his future. This is what leads him to be swayed from his path in the DDD, as he was expected to succeed no matter what. Thus, he is incredibly hard-working, and wholeheartedly believes his hard work will pay off if he continues at his pace. However, he tends to misinterpret instructions, and his confidence that he's right tends to work against him.

Overall, Hokuto is someone who is earnestly true to himself first and foremost, who works hard to achieve his dreams wholeheartedly, and whose comicality is hidden by his serious demeanour. He truly loves his friends and does his best to support them, aiming for his dreams with them by his side.
