Jirou Azuma

A peculiar high school student that has basic training as a ninja and the unfound ability to speak to animals. Jirou Azuma, the grandson of Toshimasa Azuma, is a cocky kid with a heart for animals. Should Jirou find an animal being bothered or in need of help, he will rush over and fight the people causing trouble. Eventually, he meets a wounded Ragou and brings him in to help him recover. The two butt heads a bit though Jirou does care for him. Upon a near death experience, Ragou fuses with Jirou to save him, creating an unheard of event between both mononoke and humans.

Though Jirou is quite cocky at times, he is oddly clever sometimes. He is definitely not the smartest fighter, but he may occasionally purposely take damage to defeat someone else. In general, he tries his best when fighting, even if he can't control his own abilities and ends up getting clobbered. After fusing with Ragou, Jirou gets an immense power up and is able to use Ragou's power.

When Jirou and Ragou are fused, they become a human mononoke hybrid. Though Jirou cannot directly use Ragou's power himself, Ragou can work with Jirou and augment him with his immense power. The two bug each other, though they also care a lot for the other.
