Kazuho Miyauchi

Kazuho Miyauchi works as the only school teacher at the Asahioka branch school. Her eyes are drawn as closed and she mostly wear plain cloths or a lab coat when she's teaching. She is a laidback person and is shown to be rather lazy. The Asahioka branch school only has five students attending, ranging from elementary to junior high school, are together in the same class. Since the class is mixed, the students mostly study on their own while Kazuho sleeps at her desk most of the time. She's not the most inspiring teacher and it's not unusual that she's late for class, even coming in as late as noon because she over slept. When she isn't sleeping she grades test, write hand-outs or assign class duties that she's too lazy to do herself.

Kazuho is the eldest sister in the Miyauchi family and lives with her parents and two younger sisters Hikage and Renge. Hikage, the middle sister is attending high school in Tokyo and Renge the youngest sister, who is part of the main cast, is a student at Asahikoka. Kazuho used to attend Asahioka herself when she was younger and later she studied in Tokyo when Renge was born. At home she is also seen taking frequent naps during the day, but compensates by staying up late to complete her teacher assignment. Renge is sometimes annoyed over Kazuho's lazy manners and wants her to be more of an inspiring teacher who can motivate her students to do better. Instead the students use her as a bad example and studies hard to not turn out like her. Though she can seem erratic most of the time she is shown to be responsible when needed for example when they're on the trip to Okinawa and she does help out on her parents rice fields when she isn't teaching.
