As a researcher for the YF-19 project at the New Edwards Flight Center in Eden, Lucy initially was put off by the roguish Isamu Alva Dyson but relents to going out with him after he asks her out for a date. She warms up to his boyish charms after they go out on several dates, accompanying him even to a Sharon Apple concert. She unwittingly gets entangled in the bitter love triangle between Isamu and former friends Myung Fang Lone and Guld Goa Bowman.
