The reason she holds a grudge against Oogami is because her Japanese father, Seiya Ogata, abandoned her; after that, she despised all Japanese men, thinking them unreliable. However, Ōgami managed to eventually reunite her with Ogata, with whom she made peace, and Orihime and Ōgami become close friends
