The prince of the now-ruined Raggs kingdom and the owner of the Eye of Michael, Teito was enslaved for 10 years until his best friend Mikage helped him escape the imperial military academy. Having slowly started to retrieve his sealed memories, Teito makes it his goal to uncover the truth behind the Raggs War and his own past. As a first step towards this goal, he aims to become a bishop of the Barsburg Church, an institution helping people in need and protecting them from Kors.

Although his struggles with his past may make him seem moody and dark at first, Teito is a very bright and kind boy who strives to treat everyone with the love and respect they deserve. Having lived in both the top and the very bottom tiers of the social hierarchy, he is able to deeply empathize with those suffering while maintaining his noble, charming aura. He is very emotional and cries more times than any other character in the series. Although he is deeply self-conscious, he can be confident and calm when he needs to be.
