A Japanese boy band/idol group from Tokyo, Japan. Consisting of Satoshi Ohno, Sho Sakurai, Masaki Aiba, Kazunari Ninomiya, and Jun Matsumoto, the band was formed on September 15, 1999 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The band became the best-selling artist of 2019, their tenth anniversary, as they had simultaneously topped the singles, album, and music DVD charts.
On January 27, 2019, Arashi announced that group activities would be suspended as of December 31, 2020.
