Hideto Takarai, better known as HYDE, is a Japanese musician, vocalist, lyricist, record producer, actor and voice actor. He is best known as the vocalist for the rock band L'ArcenCiel, as well as for the band Vamps. In the band L'ArcenCiel he stylized his name as hyde, while in his solo projects and in the band Vamps he stylized it as HYDE. He is currently active in the band L'ArcenCiel (1991–) under the name HYDE (2001–), while also a member of Vamps (2008–2017), who are currently on hiatus.
