Nobumoto made her debut as a scriptwriter in 1989 on TV drama, and on anime two years later with Fly! Peek the Whale.

Widely known for her work on hit titles such as Cowboy Bebop, Tokyo Godfathers and Macross Plus. She is noted as the original creator of Wolf’s Rain. She also contributed scripts for Samurai Champloo, Space Dandy and Carole & Tuesday.

She passed away on December 1, 2021 after a battle with esophageal cancer.
