Known for having directed shows such as Mononoke, Welcome to Irabu's Office and Tsuritama among others. He was also set to serve as an assistant director to Mamoru Hosoda on Howl's Moving Castle, but this was later scrapped due to creative differences with Hayao Miyazaki, who ended up directing the film himself.
