After graduating from Kanagawa Prefectural Yokosuka High School she began working for Telecom Film. In the later half of the 90s she worked often together with Daichi Akitarou, overseeing much of the work in his stead. She made her debut as director on Sister Princess RePure. One year later she directed Da Capo, where she was able to introduce even more of her own ideas and display her creative vision.
