Watching FLCL in high school, he fell in love with animation and wanted to become a director. Toshiyuki Tsuru's episodes and openings of Naruto were the turning point for him, and he started in the animation industry as an assistant director at Toei.
He works mainly on ONE PIECE and pays a lot of attention to lighting and animation. As an animator, he often corrects timing and animates parts of his episodes.
