Wataru is a light novel writer who is best known for being the author of Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. In March of 2009, he graduated from Meiji University in Communication and Information.
He initially decided to become a light novel writer because he was having difficulty finding a job. He is currently working at a company as a salaryman while being a part-time writer, with no plans of making writing his full-time occupation.
