After leaving the university, he fisrt worked as a security man. In 1941, at the age of 30, he joined the NHK Tokyo Broadcasting Theater Company.

He was then active as an actor and especially as a voice actor, and supported the early days of radio. Then, he became known for his role as Bando Kamezou on NHK Radio "Mukosangenryokunen", which started broadcasting in 1947, and became a leading actor of the theater company. He is also a well-known reader, and in 1959, won the Wada Award, which is given to outstanding readers.
After leaving the NHK Tokyo Broadcasting Company, he worked for K-Production , Banshu Pro, etc. before joining Production Tank.
