Ayano Takeda is a Japanese novelist. She aspired to become a novelist when she first read Risa Wataya's I Want to Kick You in the Back (蹴りたい背中, Keritai senaka). She made her debut while she was a student at Doshisha University with the short novel Kyou, Kimi to Iki wo Suru (今日、きみと息をする。). A story about a high school art club. She submitted the novel to 8th Japan Love Story Award sponsored by Takarajimasha. Her novel was selected as a finalist. Although it did not win the prize, it was later published in May 2013 in the Takarajimasha Bunko collection.

In December 2013, she published her second debut novel Sound! Euphonium: Welcome to the Kitauji High School Concert Band. The novel was based on her days in the brass band club during elementary and junior high school. The novel was successful and received a manga and a popular anime adaptation by Kyoto Animation.

In 2016, she was appointed as a tourism ambassador for her hometown in Uji City.

On September 25, 2022, she announced she got married to a man from outside the manga industry.
