Among Sunrise's most noted directors.
Famous directorial works include Planetes, Scryed, Infinite Ryvius as well as Code Geass, which is an original story created by him and the series' lead writer Ichirou Ookouchi. Taniguchi is the one who proposed the idea to the producers at Sunrise. The basic idea for the plot consisted of a "hero" who led a secret organization, which was later developed into a conflict between two characters with different values and who belonged to the same military unit.
